Devourer never got around revising the raffle system. So when less than 5 people are playing it generates money, when more than 5 people are playing it burns minerals (10 per player over 5).
I'm not sure I understand. D:
You mean the pot goes +10 for each player that joins until it reaches 5 participants. From there on, it goes -10 per new participant?!

Master has given Dobby a doctorate! Dobby is free!

...Basically. The raffle has a default pot of 50, and it costs 20 to put 10 in. To find at what point the system stops giving minerals, make an equation, and let x = # of participants, like so:
20x = 10x+50
10x = 50
x = 5

To find how many minerals are gained/lost, it's a similar equation:
50-10x = total change in minerals.

Okay, but someone will still get a huge pot. I don't care about the rest. ^^

The point is if you do it via SEN it'll cost you more and the winner gets less.

Woah

Think of it this way:
You have 10 people who buy tickets for 20 minerals. 10 minerals go into the pot and 10 disappear. That leaves the pot at 150 minerals. Add 5 more people to that and the pot becomes 200.

If you run the raffle yourself and randomize the winner, the 20 mineral tickets make the pot 200 minerals with 10 people. With 15 people, it will be 300.

See the difference? Yes either way the payout is larger and people will be winning minerals, but it seems like it would be better to give the full amount of winnings rather than have minerals disappear entirely. :D

I don't trust payne to randomize my minralz, and though SEN's Raffle is often borked (I won twice in a row, Swamp has at least 2, maybe 3 in a row), I trust it more :P

Point is I don't really have a need for minerals anymore, so I really just don't care. :><:
I gave 300 minerals yesterday. :P

I didn't get a notification on the top-left that you sent me minerals. Oh well, it still showed up under Notices.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
