How are you farming exactly (I'm still trying to figure out interplanetary resource collection)? I've been sending ships on expeditions, but I haven't sent them to any other planets.

It's pretty simple. Your requirements are small cargoes and probes. On your galaxy menu, look around for awhile and search for inactive players (listed with i or upper case i, with color gray or dark gray). First, you need to attack the inactive player with a single probe. If the probe returns safe and sound, that planet is safe to attack. If it is safe to attack, you espionage how much resource the inactive player holds. If it is sufficient enough, attack with cargoes!

Expeditions are largely pointless. They are a new feature. Statistically speaking there is an ideal fleet composition to send on an expedition (but I can't for the life of me find it). Which means that if your fleet is attacked, you will win and if you find resources, you will gain as much as possible. But there is always a chance that you lose your fleet entirely. So stop doing expeditions!

How effective your probes are is governed by your Espionage level.



If the result is <2 you will only see what resources are on the planet. If it's 2, you'll see his fleet also, with 3, you'll see his defence.. With 5 and 7 respectively, you will also see his buildings and his research levels.

So, by sending more probes (on espionage), you will gain more intel. Don't use probes to attack because even if the player has 1 Rocket Launcher on his planet your probe will die during the first round and the resulting combat report won't tell you what your opponent had exactly. And it's relatively easy for 7 Small Cargoes to win a battle against 1 Rocket Launcher.

I usually send a few small cargo ships on expeditions since they can be replaced relatively easily. Now I'll be focusing more on Dazed's tactic, though, for sure.

I guess on the plus side - an expedition doesn't use one of your fleet slots (governed by Computing Tech), it only uses an expedition slot (governed by Astrophysics Tech). I simply was never a fan of them though :)...

currently saving up 300,000 Deuterium and 250,000 Crystal for Computer Tech level 10 on my Electra account....

Was it possible that I got that by mistake from him? He is on my neighbor planet :D

Not really sure how attacking works so I'm trying it out now. Sent 10 light ships and 4 cargo ships to a neighbor planet in attack mode. He only had 1 light fighter, 2 rocket launchers, and a light gun as defense.

Shouldn't you just espionage first, rather than attack and possibly lose a probe and, even if it lives, you have to send it back?

Woah

So I'm apparently able to build Fusion Reactors now. Considering Deuterium mining is very low on my planet (and it seems like this is the case on most planets), the Fusion Reactor seems kinda crappy. Is there a reason why I would want it over more Solar Plants or Solar Satellites?

It is crappy, even for high mining planets. It costs too much to build, and until your energy level is high, it's relatively inefficient. I levelled mine up to level 3, realized how bad it was, turned it off, and built another level of Solar. Haven't turned it back on since.

Constantly uses, and prolly costs some to build. Look in the description for its initial costs, and click the info button for its energy production and deut cost.
