Combining computers?

So I came across a program called MaxiVista, which turns one computer into a monitor for another computer. This is sorta cool, but it got me to thinking, this would be way cooler if the monitor (computer) still had a use of it's keyboard/input. I say this because I have a touch screen netbook, and would like to put my desktop on it.

Has anyone heard of this? I know that MaxiVista will (someday) release an update for the iPad to make it a touchscreen monitor, which is sorta what I want to do, but also add a keyboard.

Maybe Teamviewer works for you? You don't even have to install it (though you can if you want).

rdp is a built-in Windows feature, fairly easy to enable. Latency is going to be a problem, though.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Windows Live Mesh could do this, last time I tried. They may have combined it with Windows Live Sync by now, though, I remember there was a reshuffling.
