I was under the impression that this is fake, as Blizzard wouldn't trust something like that to a third party company (for obvious reasons :hurr:)
Then you don't really know how business works, do you?

Anyway, on their website they list Starcraft 2 as one of their projects under development: http://www.thethirdfloorinc.com/#projects-in-development-1e8865
I actually thought so, too, originally, since I have friends who work in the Blizzard cinematics department and as far as I know they do almost everything in-house. Not to mention a short while ago there were all those articles released where Blizzard people said they had no idea how SC2 HotS was going to actually play out.

I agree that this is real, though.

My point, really, is that if a 3rd party leaks something that does look legitimate (seriously, who outside Blizzard's official sphere could, or would bother, to pull off something like that?), then saying "oh, company X would never use a 3rd party for that in a million years" is really showing a lack of how business works. Companies will and do use 3rd parties for a huge myriad of different things where it suits them. If they judge that security is too big of a risk that is not worth the reward of having a 3rd party do the work, then of course they don't use the 3rd party to do that work.

I mean sure, if someone came and said "you know, Blizzard contract out all of their cinematics to other companies" without any other proof except their word, I'd be quite sceptical. But when there is clear evidence to support that claim (eg, leaked footage, website acknowledgement) then of course I would believe it, holding on to the former "they'd never do that!" mindset is naive.

Pretty sure it's real.

If Blizzard were smart, they'd see this as an opportunity instead of a problem. They get to see what people think of a possible story conclusion outcome in advance, and they get to imagine what could make it better.

I bet we'll see a release date pushback, though.

wth is starcraft

The only thing about this video that sounds authentic are the voices. Raynor looks pretty decent Mengsk looks terrible, which is possible that he just wasn't rendered yet I suppose. As for the release dates of their current projects, I'm curious about SC Phoenix, could SC be going console again? Personally I don't feel the content in the video was cheesy, it's about time Mengsk got what was coming to him. The only reason it's seen as cheesy is because it's Raynor and Kerrigan working together, although they've done it time and time again.. She even says something to the effect of a deal they had. Kerrigan is always cutting deals, although I'd assume that Kerrigan probably helped to bring down Mengsk since Raynor saved her life. If this is real, I don't really have a problem with this ending at all, I'm excited to get to it.

IU half expected her to say "This is SPARTA!" Then kick him through a window.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
