So, I really want to promote and help with the Wiki that SEN has hosted. As far as I can tell, it is the best way to promote knowledge and learning about the Galaxy editor. And this, in turn will give us better maps on Battle.net...

These are two pages I have been working on for the last week or so:

Creating a Unit from Scratch
Time Management

I would really like to know what you guys think. I also would definitely recommend you to create a page or help out with the Wiki.

It kicks ass, and it can kick more!

Dungeon Master

Hey! Thanks for your contributions, every little bit helps and you seem to have a good attitude :D

We have a forum dedicated to the wiki: http://www.staredit.net/forums/61/ so you should head over there. Best of luck in your efforts!

Wow, someone with a good attitude and strong work ethic, never seen that before on SEN. Haha, just kidding guys. but seriously we suck

Honestly he provides a really good point, if we each just took one page ("each" meaning the active members right now) we'd have a full wiki in no-time.

I love your articles. They're really descriptive, and easy to follow. *mental like button pressed :) *

I order you to forgive yourself!

I don't have Starcraft 2 (On this computer) and I couldn't stop myself from reading your articles. I learn new stuff everyday I guess. (The only that may have bothered me was the use of the "I" in a wiki article :D)

I learn new stuff every day too. I find that the easiest way to learn things in the editor is by just using it and familiarising yourself with it. A thing I really like doing is browsing a 'help me section' on any forum - whether its over here at SEN or the Hiveworkshop, or even SC2 Mapster... I'll find a thread in which someone is like 'omg how do i do this?' and if it's something valid, and slightly interesting, try and do it myself.

As for using 'I' in my articles.. hehe, I guess its a bad habit. But at the end of the day, I am writing my knowledge about a subject down for others to read. I feel it keeps it at a sort of conversational level and that kinda makes long chunks of texts easy to read.

I'm going to go be active in the Wiki part of the thread now.. :)

Now that I think about it, I think it's good to use "I" in a tutorial that is part of a wiki.

Read this to see what I mean: The tutorials written by Koobare are always fun to read.

Koobare... i know the name but can't think why I've read any of his Tutorials.. unless he writes about SC2 aswell?

What's regular status?

I'm gonna be working on my maps for now - so might not be updating the wiki as regularly.. but whenever I get annoyed at the slow progress in the Galaxy Editor, i'll come share some things on the wiki :)

It shows beside your name if you are a regular. When you join the site, you are just a normal member, then you get promoted to regular if you contribute a lot (Some exception may apply.), after that, you become a veteran and an elite (I guess you need to give your soul to the site at this point.).

Master has given Dobby a doctorate! Dobby is free!

Actually, you become a GM or something once you contribute your soul. After a certain level of activity SEN automatically makes you a Regular, Vet needs contributions, and Elite is all but the soul devoted to SEN. Yes, there are exceptions, such as CaptainWill, who was once a moderator, IIRC, but he did not give his soul. It was forcibly sucked out through his bellybutton in a big, SAW-esque device.

Woah

Actually to clarify for the 50th time, no promotions are automatic. SEN produces a list of members who meet a certain criteria, and based on that we can promote them.

Cardinal, just make sure you add the [[Category:StarCraft II]] and others corresponding categories to your articles next time. :)
I am fixing your articles ATM: no need to bother yourself for those! ;)
