So, I have this Trigger... Here's what it's supposed to do:

Guy walks up to a pickup item
Item vanishes
Guy gets +5 ammo on whichever ability they have (it's selectable at the beginning of the map)
Item respawns after a while.

Problem is, it doesn't give the ammo. to any of the abilities.

EDIT: I think the ability doesn't use ammo, it uses charges, but I have no idea how to add charges. :\

You add charges with the Add Charge Used For Unit Ability trigger, just set the number to a negative.

Tried that already, didn't do anything. Do I have to put something in the 'Charge: ""' thing? Cuz I have no idea what I'd type...

First thing to try: Make sure that the trigger actually runs when you think it should. Put a display text message action somewhere in there and see if it's displayed.

I've never worked with charges before so I don't know what else to tell you. >.>

Well, as I suspected, I did have to add something to the 'Charge: ""' field. You actually have to put the abilities link, not the ID, the link, in that field. I got it working (afaik).

Oh, and I already knew it was working, otherwise the item wouldn't have vanished.

A rather complicated thing. I actually had to check in the campaign map to see how they did it with Raynor's grenades, and even that didn't give me all the info I needed.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
