So, I'm looking for some nice headphones, preferrably with surround sound built-in. A max would be at about $100, with a comfort zone of $20. What would be a nice pair?

Surround sound? Like 5.1 or 7.1? Headphones are always stereo...

First of all, 20-100 is not a good range to give because its too large and the difference between a 20$ headset and a 100$ headset is astronomical. Second, Nude, headsets can incorporate multiple speaker setups within and simulate surround sound.
So for 100$, we have this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106328 but note that unless you have a good soundcard, (and no I don't mean your integrated OMG HD AUDIO from your motherboard, because that's going to sound like shit) this would be a waste. And note that no MP3 player is going to take advantage of their full potential either.

But when it comes to headphones of higher quality, when we start talking about above-basic connectors and the kind of stuff you're going to see a real DJ use, that's a bit above my level of audio experience. You might want to drop by Anandtech's audio and home theater forum and talk to some of their experts. This is of course assuming you're not just going to be using them on a shitty soundcard with source audio in a lossy codec. Which I think you will be.

I actually meant a $20 comfort zone of the $100, so $100-$120.

For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically[2026-6-21. : 4:26 am]
Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
