Trying to find a "step" or "update" event.

Without cheating (using a 0.01 second wait, or having a trigger trigger itself at the end of execution, or anything else that is slopy and could lead to bugs...
Is there any "onUpdate" or "onStep" type event that I can register an event with in Galaxy script?

Also, if anyone has a good listing for the Galaxy API I'd love it :)

Tks ahead of time.

Would help if I knew exactly why you needed such an event, there may be a better solution (such as running a trigger whenever you would trigger an update). If you want a continuous evaluation of a condition then you will need a periodic trigger, there really is no other way of doing it.

Also recursive triggers are a valid way of doing certain things.

Heh, I asked exactly what I needed to know...
I don't have a specific need for the onStep function, I just was digging around the API to get a feel for it... most APIs have some form of update function you can attach continuous logic checks to... I know there's a nice event handler to manage all of that jazz, and I know 95% of the time, you should use that, but I was just curious.

Primarily, I'll try to write as much as I can in GS and not have to use the GUI triggers as they tend to be a tad (relative) slow, and I just like working in code better, I'm a control nut (I'd rather know how things are being done, not just what they are doing).

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

You would have to do that manually running triggers at the end of some functions like you said, I guess.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
