Many find the new skin epic/sexy, others think its vomit, and some find it okay.
The latter implies improvement; there's already a thread about this, but I believed posting this into the topic would've just been a waste... a bit like the "New minerals - SUCK" thread.

I've heard a lot of people complaining about the uselessness of those images in the background of forums: they hide the text, are too bright, and make the overall skin look painful to the eyes.
The major concern here is to propose a good alternative. Devourer states those images are core elements to the skin, while I do not think the same way.

Use this thread to give your suggestions in regards of those forum images, and those only.

For my part, I simply propose to remove them from the Main Forum Index, but to keep them into the individual forums, simply because they add a great touch to these.

What about you, SENers?

Just here for the activity... well not really

I propose to move them to the right, like corboland did.

They look good there because
1) They are bigger => we see the details => we actually know what it is
2) they have more alpha to it
3) the background color is blue, which complements really well with the colors of the image

If we moved ours to the right, they'd just start hiding the Topics/Replies stats. ;o

Whether it be removal or replacement, my vote is for anything but keeping them there.

Whatever happens, there needs to be more contrast between read forums and unread forums. It's really hard to tell the difference as it is.

I did.
Yet the background stays green when marking the forum as read, will fix that later.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
