I hate that the new editor for SC2 requires that you log on and verify your account! I dont always have internet and I was wondering if there is any way to bypass that requirement..

This!
I'd love to work on maps while I'm not in the city. ;o

Woah

Mine only asked for it the first time I opened the editor. Hasn't asked since.

Not to derail the topic but is it possible to be able to obtain the map editor without the actual Starcraft 2 game?

So I thought maybe that was right because I logged in then exited and reloaded the editor. But.. It continued to.. Is it also possible that this may be caused by the fact that I get on an account that is shared with 2 computers?

Same.
Maybe re-downloading sc2 might help, but hurry, beta is closed within the next 24 hours.

Probably because it is used on 2 computers, that would be most likely, it probably records that it has been authorized on one computer, on that computer itself.
try it on the same computer.

Well thats not exactly possible but I guess I can deal with it if the beta is ending.. When it ends does the editor, as well, end?

Also, because this topic is related to the editor itself, I was wondering why it crashes my computer.. I use low graphics and maybe thats why? Still have a standard graphics card.. But all other specs are beyond necessary standards.

you might try reinstalling once the game is out - they released quite a few patches that at the end that made it much more stable for me

Woah

I'm still able to use the editor now that the beta is over, but again i haven't been prompted to use my BNet info since I first opened it. Maybe I just got it to glitch somehow? I have no idea.

you only need to verify that you have an account associated with sc2 once, after that you can use the editor whenever you want, without connecting to battlenet.

Mine never asked for a password. Ever. Not sure what the system has against you guys. :/

Of course, it could be that I've never actually published any maps. That might have an effect.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
