Woah

Unbanned. Not sure why you were banned, unless you got hit with a phraseban from yesterday.

RepeatBan, because someone said "lol" and I said "lol" after them =[ I was just like, wow, the other one got me now too >>

Thanks for a speedy resolution ^^

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Seriously? If someone says something funny and 2 people reply with lol the last of the 2 will get banned?!
This is ridiculous.

The sword and the faith

Repeatban was turned on to stop people from going
<<| TEMPLE SIEGE |>>
<<| TEMPLE SIEGE |>>
<<| TEMPLE SIEGE |>>

again and again.

Obviously its not a perfect filter and thus was turned off. I'd appreciate it if people would refrain from commenting on things they know nothing about.

Is repeatban not user-sensitive? Changing it so it only bans individuals from repeating (not multiple people saying the same thing) would resolve the problem.

Ban expiry should also be set a lot lower for nonoffensive things like repeating, something like 5 minutes is more than reasonable than a 24 hour ban.

Normal bans have no auto-expiry and would require a timeban script which I do not have.

It seems like a lot of our users haven't used a bot, or specifically Miragebot before. :P

If it bans people that jynx each other as a side-effect then I don't see the problem with inquiring about it.

It was a simple testing of a ban option. People are talking as if I put in a ban for people saying 'lol' which is absurd.

I'm going to attempt to use as much flowery wording as possible here since my last post was apparently flaming in the eyes of SEN's administrators. (http://www.sc2mapster.com/ think about it): I was merely commenting on the fact that I thought what you said was a little over-the-top condescending and disrespectful.

The sword and the faith

It was meant to be sharp to discourage what I considered unintelligent posting. If you don't stop it as soon as it starts it consumes a thread. It was mostly based on Nude's post here. We would've had an entire page and a half about how mean Ex is because he won't let people say lol in the channel when that wasn't even the case.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
