Relatively ancient and inactive

... What?

It's a nice ad, but I thought it odd that it didn't include any scenes from the actual game. I think there needs to be SOMETHING that lets the viewer know that SCII is a RTS...

AFAIK the female ghost in the commercial is not -repeat not- Sarah Kerrigan. It is, in fact, another female ghost called Nova.

No... It's not. Blizzard already said that it's Kerrigan. It's a clip from when she was infested. Why would Nova be in there? She has NOTHING to do with this Starcraft world. And besides, Nova's hair is blond, not orange (like Kerrigan's).

Jun 13 2010, 11:51 pm MadZombie Post #25

? I'm like 99% Sure I heard Blizzard was going to throw Nova in sc2. Now whether that meant her unit model for the editor or the actual story or some random cameo I cannot confirm.

Thanks to the link that was posted I remember that I read that she is going to be in a mission like that link said. Wherever I read the info from went into detail about the actual mission. It was something pretty lame like evacuating civilians(?) from somewhere. Now if thats her in the video... eh.

Woah

I know at BlizzCon they used a StarCraft: Ghost-like map as an example of what you can do with GalaxyEdit. That should mean that Nova is in the editor at least (or they redid her model to put in that one map).

Nova is defiantly in the map editor however nova has blond hair and green eyes
Kerrigan has red hair and green eyes if you look closely at uninfested kerrigans portrait so it is defiantly not nova... probally another ghost, a clone of kerrigan, or a flashback

Quote from name:Nova">http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Nova]Nova will appear in a StarCraft II mission.

Nova is in the StarCraft II campaign.

Why do video games always make their female leads/characters so damn good looking? Women that good looking IRL would never have the audaciousness be in the armed forces. :P

It's quite possible for a ghost. Because most of them are abducted from early childhood to be a ghost.

It is Kerrigan. Orange Hair, setting from where the drawn cinematic took place, and yeah. ;o

Apparently they played it during halftime in one of the NBA games... (boston vs lakers) but idk which one... they just posted it on their Blizzard Facebook page. Can anyone confirm this? :P

Confirm what? That they played it on tv? They did during game two or three of the finals.

Jun 18 2010, 12:17 am DevliN Post #35

Woah

Yeah, that's when it premiered. It was actually kind of funny. I posted the "leaked" version on Facebook that day, and my pal who works at Blizzard (who edited this) posted later with a comment like, "This was just on TV. NOW it can be spread around. ;)" Good times with almost getting Blizzard employees in trouble.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
