Ok so here's the problem : I have on my computer a 11gb Blu-Ray rip of Avatar, MKV file, thing is? My Computer is too slow to run it! (Fail..) *I use VLC player* So I'm wondering, since my computer cant even play it properly, can my PS3 do it, as it has a blu-ray player in it? Is there any way where i can transfer and play this MKV file on my computer to my PS3? I've googled this for a long time but alot of it is out-dated/sketchy. If you do know a way, can you please explain how to do it and what programs (preferably freeware ones) / things i would need?

VLC versions 1.0 and higher have a built in conversion feature. It should be able to convert anything it can play. However I don't know which formats are suitable for PS3.

Alternatively try different graphics rendering modes for VLC (some might need less CPU power) unless your computer is way too slow. Keep in mind you have to restart VLC after every renderer change.

Otherwise check the sticky for video conversion tools. SUPER is my personal favorite.

I'm not sure this follows the site rules. Probably a blu-ray disc.

MKV File is a container, not a codec. Your computer probably IS too slow to run it, since h.264 is incredibly difficult. That being said, MKV is pretty much the best container there is and unfortunately, most commercial products do not support it and instead pay royalties to apple for use of mp4.

Your PS3 shouldn't be able to play the file unless you transcode it into mp4.

However, I think I might be able to get your computer to run the file, but you'll have to get a program called CoreAVC, which isn't free. Also download MPC-HC, which IS free. There's 2 versions: the Russian one and the English one. If you can find the russian one, go ahead, it's supposedly better. If you have any codec packs installed, go ahead and uninstall them, or any actual codecs you may have installed. You can always reinstall another codec pack (klite or cccp work fine--make sure you configure them to use coreavc for h264 rather than ffdshow with libavcodec, the open source h264 codec which VLC uses).

I can't guarantee it works, but coreAVC is 33% more efficient than libavcodec, which is desperately needed in your case.

Also, chances are you've got a 1080p bd-rip, so I do hope you have a 1920x1080+monitor to watch this on.

If it is already using the right codecs, you may be able to just demux it and remux it into a container format that the PS3 does support (like mp4) and that may be enough to get it to work.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
