Woah

I believe it is for assistance with melee map making, since there is no actual "Melee Map Production" forum, and we probably don't need one anyway. My assumption is that it would be more for balancing questions, or anything of that sort. Plus, if we're trying to make ourselves more melee friendly, it might be a good idea to try to aid in melee map making more as well.

IP, I know how much you hate sub forums, but maybe you should consider it. I hate having to scroll so far down.

You can do sc2 general discussion, and sc1 general discussion as its sub forum.

Maybe we don't even need a custom/melee Map showcase. The DLDB can be used for that purpose, with the ability to gain post counts for commenting maps.

Woah

Or maybe just put SC1 and SC2 forums into separate portals. :P

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

I like how it is. You can just collapse the forums you don't visit and suddenly the main forum screen is much smaller. :P
Unless you visit everything, but then I don't know why having to switch back and forth would be superior to scrolling...

As you can see in the SC2 General forum, some people are doing/going to be doing tutorials for the Galaxy Editor. Perhaps we should add a Tutorials forum under Starcraft 2 Assistance?

It's what the new wiki is for.

Apr 30 2010, 6:05 pm Swampfox Post #47

Oh, well, should we be using the new wiki that's sort of in development right now?

None.

Apr 30 2010, 6:06 pm Forsaken Archer Post #48

Yeah.
The wiki itself is fine. It just needs skinning and better integrationn with sen, there's nothing wrong with anything inside the wiki itself.

Formatting with it isn't fine. Actually it's horrible. Are there any guides?

These should also help, considering it's the same wiki type (I believe):

Is the new wiki going to be SC1 and SC2? I made 2 SC1 articles in it already.

None.

Apr 30 2010, 7:22 pm Forsaken Archer Post #52

I think we are doing both, Starcraft I articles being made with the title "Starcraft I: (article name)" or something similar.

None.

Apr 30 2010, 7:29 pm Swampfox Post #53

Well, from the articles I see in there already, the titles are "article name (StarCraft)" or "article name (StarCraft II)" although, judging from the discussion on the community portal page, the categories in the future may be any one of these: (StarCraft 1) (StarCraft I) (StarCraft 2) (SC1) (SCI) (SC) (SC2) (SCII)

Just here for the activity... well not really

I think we should separate SC1 and SC2 forum indexes, at least as an option in settings.

Hello

In v6 there will be a much better "sorting"-system. (/spoiling)

Maybe ;)
You can, but you got limited space, fixed it today.

:payne:

I'm at 533% of the limited space, I mean... no way I go read all my threads to delete useless files and all. I think there shouldn't be any limit. After all, we've only rarely seen real-pure junk hosted on this site.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
