Hmmmm...
What if site / general had it's own tab? If we went with the tab system.

Option 3 and 4 didn't entirely relate to tabs. It was more in the line of thinking of a distinct separation of the forums. When you say tabs and then only say "sc1 and sc2", it just sounds silly.

Oh god, we have 7 forum icon packs now. Anyone want to help out by giving me the ones we need for each?

Also could use some help with the forum descripts.

As far as layout scheme, I'm probably going to make it a option in the settings for tabs / full forum / whatever.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Could this be a good icon?

And all the Starcraft II Terran, Protoss and Zerg icons.

Please allow me to better hide SCI forums. I don't care about them, and the "hidden" bar is distracting.

Skinning is really a subset of Modeling. Should probably delete it.

Can you move SC1 above SC2 forums, at least until SC2 comes out?

Side note: And where can you get the galaxy editor anyway?

Galaxy editor is part of the beta Patch 9.

PyMS and ProTRG developer

There is a slight problem with the breadcrumbs. Viewing the Theory and Ideas forum gives:

Staredit Network » Starcraft II » Theory and Ideas

But then entering a topic gives:

Staredit Network » Theory and Ideas » Topic Name

Which, if you can't figure it out, should be:

Staredit Network » Starcraft II » Theory and Ideas » Topic Name

Remove that altogether, as it fits into general discussion.

Did starcraft 1 Theory and Ideas fit in General SC? No. So keep them seperate.

Who are the mods going to be for the new forums?

It would've; we had no General SC.

Woah

You can if you want. He's basically right. I think we had them separate for the mere fact that if people needed help with skinning their models, there would be a forum for it, so it isn't all cluttered into one.

And I think Theory should still exist because it pertains to map making theories. Theoretically (haha see what I did there?) anything should be possible with the new editor, so these "theories and ideas" could just be in map making assistance. Either way, General is more for discussion of the game itself, or things related to it in a fashion other than map making. General is typically where I put the map review and map compendium threads, since they don't really belong in Showcase.

Woah

Yeah, that was a response to someone saying we should get rid of http://www.staredit.net/forums/48/ and merge it with SC2 General. http://www.staredit.net/forums/11/ proved to be successful as a separate forum than SC1 General, so I think we should keep them separate.

Agreed.
Now what about 'Melee Assistance'? What is the purpose? For melee mapping or melee competition discussion? Both?

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
