I'm in a pretty (self-proclaimed)serious relationship now. I think it's when you can actually trust the other person with anything, and likewise. I would also agree that knowing each other's parents is a good sign that it is more serious than not. Once you can actually tell yourself that you really think spending the rest of your life with them is going to work out. A good sign is when any thoughts about marriage or children comes up, you picture them there.
