I order you to forgive yourself!
I had this idea a couple days ago.
Making a website like
tinyurl and making it create a kind of hit counter for each link.
Why would that be useful?
- Makes the person that made the link see how much people followed it.
- Let's say your on Sen and you want to link outside the site, you can place the picture after the link and it would show how much people clicked it.
- You can upload your maps (files) somewhere else than Sen (So it doesn't use your space.) And still see the counter for the amount of people that downloaded it.
- Probably more ideas to come.
What gave me this idea was
Farty's signature:

That would be difficult, but you can try.
None.

Relatively ancient and inactive
Difficult? Sounds easy to me. And like a good idea. Check if those tinyurl and the like don't track that already, though.
None.
That's a bad idea and you should feel bad about yourself.
I actually have no opinion either way...
but bit.ly *does* over a histogram of the links just by adding a + to the end of the bit.ly link (I think). And if you're watching it, it updates regularly.

What I liked with the image was that it could be linked into a post and since the last image would be overwritten with the new one (explanation: look at
Farty's signature:
This page has been viewed

times!) one would not need to change the image since it auto updates. For posts, that's what you want.
Did that make sense?
...you guys never noticed that this already exist?
