I've reccently been playing income D made by Vic from this Clan. I enjoy it very much however, I'd like to test and play around with the map. May I have permission to do so?

As long as it's unprotected, I don't see why not. Obviously, if he has protected it, then it was done for a reason. If that's the case, you can unprotect it, or respect him and leave it alone/get an OK.

Woah

All Vic's maps were protected. Most have since been unprotected and, to some extent, stolen.

If that's the case, at least have the decency to credit him, heh.

Most stealers did in the beginning.. than it got bad.. So there nothing we could do about it except listen to sixen's advice.

The players know when there is a map is stolen. Someone like t3hprxm4pper would not be able to make a map such as Income Def.
Most players do know that Income Def is made by Vic, as well as Path Def.
I think we are lucky that Starcraft is played by an older generation the at least has some decency to respect the map.

Many kids these days do not care to respect the work others put into the map.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
