I have reason to believe that my girlfriend is being emotionally abused by her parents. I do not have enough evidence to go to the police with. Another problem is that she is mentally disturbed (not retarded) as a result of being born several months prematurely and wouldn't recognize it if she was being abused. What should I do?

However, now that I've calmed down (I was really pissed because her parents decided she couldn't go to a school dance after earlier saying she could) and talked to my parents/her, I've decided I'm over-reacting and/or looking for a reason to be angry at her parents. This can be locked.
Also, DM, that is a retarded suggestion and you should kick yourself in the balls for thinking it would work.

I just can't leave this alone... Are you really so upset over some dumb dance or a couple of other missed dates or aborted phone calls that you'd really be willing to up-heave her entire life and home? Do you want to take care of her? You're still a kid yourself.

Seeing the result at the end, all I can say is thank god you came to your senses in the end.. emotional abuse is much more serious than all that, as I hope you realize.
