Ok so i know this isn't the correct format usually used but i wasn't sure where/how to type this. I'm finishing up a new diplomacy/civilization map probably on sunday and i'm looking for 5 people to help me play it and figure out the balance issues. I'd ask that they be able to play the map at least 3-4 times next week because i'd like to finalize it by then and post it in showcase. Please respond to this thread and i'll get your bnet names and give you the map and we can play some. also if you wana do it I think it would be best to discuss balance issues within the thread because one person might feel a unit is IMBA while someone else might think it needs a buff or is fine.

Once again sorry if this is totally wrong. Thanks yall.

Please move topic... map production should be about a map... even if this is allowed.
There is no screenshot..

Woah

In order for this to be in Production, it needs screenshots and info about the map. For Showcase, it needs a copy of the map itself. Normally I'd put this in Theory, but you give no info about the map to even support that.

Post information about this map and include some screenshots by the end of the day, or I'll just close it.

is there no way to just throw this out there to see if anybody wants to help? I dont want to put up screens because it is a modified melee type map and to be honest it will be out within the week (hopefully) so why show anything now. Where should i put this? Not trying to cause any waves here just not sure about the direction to take.

Pears.. try using shoutbox.

If you are posting topics, it's hard for anyone to be interested in your map if you give very little information about it.

i mean its just a diplo altered melee map with some twists that i've included. some resources management and unit systems that i haven't seen before (not to say that they aren't around). and i'm just responding to a reply that served no purpose but to talk down to me. so. call it what you will buddy.

Good luck finding people who want to test for you with that attitude ><

Best results = overly nice to testers.

oh i totally agree. i'd greatly appreciate their work and would give them credit of course. I'm just not going to cater to the ego of an overzealous buffoon who is trying to be alpha. I'll try doing using the shoutbox like someone suggested. Hopefully someone bites because i'd rather not have to resort to finding some ragtag group of waterheads on bnet. I can hear it now, "RIGGED!" "THIS MAP SUCKS!" :|

Woah

Yeah, your best bet is the shoutbox. I'm closing this since you don't want to add screenshots or info to describe the map in detail.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
