Okay, so I decided today that I should beat Mirror's Edge on hard with no guns... It's not the most pleasant idea at times, but surprisingly not that hard.

However I am struggling on Chapter 9, The Shard.

In the part with 2 Uzi, 2 Shotguns, 4 AK's and 2 Machine Guns.

Now, I can beat all of them except the two machine guns. It's possible, but How? Anyone know?

None.

Just Here For The Pie

Hard and no guns? That is a bad level for those requirements. You are stuck on the part in the server room right? If not, you can pretty much run around everything else in that level.

Anyway, in the server room, you need to take out the first guy you see and then run like hell. Leave his buddy for later. Hug the walls and take out the next guy you see then run like hell, hugging the walls again. You need to do this the whole way through. Leave the machine gun guys for last. When it is their turn, sneak up on one and jump kick him. Proceed to beat him until he is down then run like hell, hugging the walls again.

I have not played in a while, but I do recall circling that server room a bunch of times before I beat everyone in it.

Not that bit, It's the bit inside the tall building where you have to run down like 10 flights of stairs taking out 2 enemies at a time. Do I need to kill the 2 SAW Units before using the elevator?

None.

I hope that bit I told you on Xbox LIVE helped (jump on top of one of them/crouch kick the second one).

Still, no guns and hard mode, that server room is going to be a horrible nightmare.

I keep over jumping and missing, this is getting annoying.

I bought this game on steam a couple of weeks ago and I gotta say doing hard mode before the shard is REALLY DIFFICULT without guns.

It's a good challenge isn't it! Possible, but hardly.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
