Since a lot of our work appears to already be done for us, I suppose the prudent thing to do is to simply reuse what's been done rather than rewrite it all. If anyone finds any more relevant articles that can be imported, please post them.

Already imported:
Not yet imported:

I've already imported the tileset elevations one, for instance, but I won't have much time for importing all the others. Help appreciated.

I guess you ought to be the one that edit the subtile article since it's yours ;o
I'll do the Fog of War one.

Those are the only two articles, then?

Alright, I'll get started later. Though it really doesn't take long to port articles if you don't plan on editing them.

There's one that Wilhelm made in maplantis. I'll have to dig it up.

Here it is It's on proper terrain height and I found it to be very useful. There are 2 parts.

It is very great, but it may need some touches here and here. Anyone would take care of such a task? ;o

EDIT: I've looked through all Maplantis' Wiki and I've found this too: http://www.staredit.net/maplantis/index.php?sid=c27ceee091;wiki=88
It talks about the Null tile :P It would provide more informations to implement into this wiki.

EDIT: This could also be used as an introduction for the Table of Content (which would only contain this little intro and some links to external wikis). Tux, could you share with us the work you had done about that "hub" please?

We can ask wilhelm himself if he is interested in fixing it. If not, I can ask permission for editing it.
I think its fine, though xD

I didn't really write that much, to be honest. I think we've already covered just about all of the objective terraining information we need. Pending a few minor edits and the completion of my Isometric article, of course (which I'll get to eventually).

If you read it carefully, he himself admits he has some errors here and there. There are typos, effectively, and there's an example he gives that I do not understand much (he also said it wasn't really clear). :O

The Maplantis wiki seems to be broken. Suggestions?

Woah

It's not broken, it's just gone. Check out http://www.staredit.net/topic/13129/ for the new wiki.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
[2026-6-20. : 3:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
