I feel like whenever I make terrain, it looks ok but I feel like it doesn't look great because it seems forced. Does anybody have any tips to naturalize terrain?

I've attached a small village which I'm making to see if you can see what I see. Perhaps what I mean isn't forced, but maybe someone could help me decide what it is I don't like about my terrain.

Feel free to edit it and show me an example of how to make it look more natural, but that's not necessarily what I'm asking for although that would also be somewhat helpful.

edit: Sorry, I'm unable to take screenshots for some reason.

Your problem is that it's too perfectly spread out, and that you make it somewhat too square, terrain has to have lots of random jumps, have 2 trees in a spot instead spreading them all out perfectly, maybe have one area really cluttered with doodads, while another is more barren, but your main problem is that you don't make the terrain stick out randomly at spots, it just goes straight, with nice square turns.

It helps that you pointed that out, thanks.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
