Hey ppl's,
I lost my starcraft cd-case, and yesterday (as I was recieving some errors) I tried reinstalling the game. This is bad because the CD-key that I need to reinstall the game WAS on the cd-case!!! Grrr... I love SC, I want to continue playing it! Would anyone be willing to lend me their/a CD key? My email is the_turtle_that_tried@yahoo.com.
Thank You,
~BJ

Asking for a CD-key is against the rules, sorry. It's basically like asking for a free Steam Account to play half life, or whatnot. For all we know, you could of just downloaded a torrent and you just need a CD-key.

Could have.

What you do is copy your StarDat.mpq from your old installation, install with 1234567891234 as your CDkey, then patch, then paste your old StarDat over your new one. Should work.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
