I've been running vista for a while and I've encountered many random freezes. It's pretty annoying. I've only had 2 or 3 blue screens of death though. I've also had to restore my computer to factory settings with the system recovery 2 times, but that can't really be blamed on Microsoft, just had viruses or something. Don't get me wrong, I love Microsoft and absolutely hate Macs, just saying vista definitely has issues with freezing.

No, it doesn't.

If it's freezing/crashing, it's your fault, period.

I place some faith in this. However, StarCraft does have a tendency to cause my entire laptop to shut down occasionally. I blame it on the laptop overheating and Hamachi/MSN pop-ups.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

Go into Control Panel > File and Folder Properties > View, and set it to "show hidden files and folders" and unclick "hide protected operating system files" Then go into C:\ and you should have 2 files, hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys which are each like 4GB. Also, you should see a System Volume Information folder, which is the place where your backups are stored. If you need to access this folder (which I don't recommend) you right click it, go to properties, then security, and you'll have to change the permissions for your user/group to "full control." I advise not bothering with that though, just so you can't accidentally screw it up.
Yeah I know that. You can change the sizes of each, specially the paging file. I keep mine at 1.5GBs. The GBs I am talking about are REALLY lost.

fuck you all

Format. Delete everything and fresh install. Easy right?

The way mac approaches there commercials is more of an attack, and Microsoft goes for promotion. Mac says, "Microsoft is worse than us" and Microsoft says, "We are working to give you what you want." It's all in their approach, and it shows there intent. Sure there is some humor behind it, but it's easy to see through. It just makes me like microsoft even more. My friend showed me a book i think it was called "business: don't be an A$$hole". Steve Jobs is mentioned in the book and it basically says how does he get away with it? People fear him instead of look up to him. Kinda reminds me of the movie antitrus where the president of the company is a total jerk.

The only reason why Apple still exists is because Microsoft was gaining a monopoly over the software industry, and the US government was like "LOLNOMORE4U. WESPPRTSMLLCOMPANIESNAO".

I don't know how many antitrust and "X vs Microsoft" cases have occurred. I do know that there are a damn lot.

I'm not kidding at all when I say this: I saw the end of that movie on TV and have been trying to the name of that ever since I was 9. <3

One of my favorite movies. Sure, the main actor looks like justin timberlake, and he has possibly the dumbest line in movie history("in the real world, when you kill people, they die."), but I still love it haha :)

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
