Not sure if you're an Nvidia fan, though, as a number of AAA games are designed with GeForce in mind. When I was trying to decide, the benchmarks were close enough, so I went by physical difference. The GeForces are larger and require more power, while Radeons run hotter while idle but not as hot as the GeForce at full load. I figured physical size couldn't be changed, so Radeon won there. More power cannot be changed either, meaning a higher electric bill, so Radeon wins again. Finally, hotter on idle seemed easily remedied with good cooling, while hotter on load would output more overall heat and be harder to manage, stressing components more, so once again Radeon wins.

Also, between 512MB and 1GB, according to various tech reviews and forums, the performance difference will only be noticable at higher resolutions. 512MB is fine up to two thousand something by a thousand something. Beyond that is where the 1GB will help. So if your monitor is less than 24" and you have no plans on upgrading, you'll be fine at 512MB.

hercanic....its REALLY sounds like you're talking about 2560x1600. that's the LARGEST conventional resolution for computer monitors(this is HIGHER than 1080p). having the whole 1G would make a VERY appreciable difference.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
