Clearly from what I see, Ubuntu is the most widely used Linux Dist.

But is it truly the best one out there? Or are there others? I feel like having a Linux partition for some reason.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Back when I had a Linux Fetish, I'd chosen the Suse distribution. Never got around to installing it, though. OpenSuse is the free version. Also, Windows > Ubuntu. I know, as someone who uses Ubuntu in school. Annoying as hell. Going with open-source doesn't make you cool. Or me. I was actually too lazy to actually install it :P.

Yeah, Linux really isn't a good main OS, I'd just put it on a partition or something for random times when you feel a need to use it.

I actually tend to use it more often because it doesn't have all the extra stuff trying to run that my Windows side does that I'm too lazy to really turn off. When I need something other than web/word processing, then I boot Windows.

Ubuntu isn't the "best" distribution of Linux by any means, but if you've never used Linux before it's probably a friendly place to start because the superficial use is very similar to Windows. I still run Ubuntu because I really haven't bothered to figure out bash :P

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
