It won't take 6000. I am at 2200 and will probably finish with less than 3,000, and his map is much less complicated than mine; his would probably only take around 2200.
Also, players quitting is extremely easy to trigger.. the main decision is what to actually do with their stuff when they do leave, since there are no rules that actually address that.
Norm, the easiest to view your number is using mindarchon's trigger viewer, which I have uploaded to the DLDB. The version you showed me had about 1100.
Make them go instantly bankrupt. When they do it this way you auction off all their property to the remaining players. I think auctioning em off as just property without and houses would be easier.

Updates:
1.Fixed a critical bug today involving rolling doubles and paying rent.
2.Completed and tested selling property/house triggers
I will be needing testers in the next couple days- so if you see me around please offer some help if you would like.

Your terrain hurts my eyes: white isn't very nice to people's eyes... And if possible, try to change the text's color display? It's VERY hard to read the text in the first screenie.

Thanks for that suggestion, i actually just changed up the terrain to be less bright. Also, this thing is nearing completion and of course I am getting lazy at the same time >< Expect a completed version before march hits.

I'm not sure how much you've ever actually played monopoly (I've played it a lot), but mortgaging is an essential element to the game. You buy up properties in the beginning to try to set trade leverage and get a set, but once you do, you don't care about the 16 dollar rent that New York Avenue might give you; you mortgage it so you can invest it in much, much better payoffs.
However, if you make it "selling properties," people would not sell them back because they want to prevent others from getting a set. Quite frankly, the game would be much, MUCH slower with selling properties, people would be way more conservative in their spending, and it would be boring. Or, even worse, people not compensating for this drastic change would lose their properties and be set at a huge disadvantage when other players pick them up and complete sets/trade them.
If you COMBINE that with not adding auctioning, you'll be in for an EXTREMELY dull game. I know, "most people don't use it," but it really slows down the game. If you add in no mortgaging and decrease the money supply even more, people will pass on properties even more often, and it will be even worse.
Look, I know you're not going for a perfect match. For example, I am adding the 10% tax on trading mortgaged properties to my map, and it's ok to skip stuff like that in your almost-copy of monopoly. But without these two critical parts of the game, you will NOT be doing monopoly "justice," as is your goal. I sincerely hope and believe that you will change your mind and add these (honestly, easy to trigger) parts into your game.
Best wishes as always.

I think one of you should just put an SC twist on it. I'm sure you can use SC universe planets and locations in place of the regular monopoly ones. I bet there's even an SC Monopoly version in real life anyway, just like how there's Star Wars themed monopoly.
I thought of this. In star wras, you can "declare war" on other planets. Speeds up the game.

No, however I have been making progress on it. I have had 2 other projects that I have been working at the same time. I completed one, and now I just have this map and another project. Don't worry, I have finished every map I started with the exception of an RPG, so you will see an enjoyable monopoly map in the coming weeks.

WOOT! I would just like to say that after a month of not touching this thing, I've gotten some motivation back. I have started kick my trading system's ass left and right- and so far it's coming along nicely. I have also changed the terrain to make it less of a brightness eye-sore =) I would like some help testing in the coming days, so if you would like to do that, please let me know. The map is currently on the better side of 80% completion, and I anticipate another 200-300 triggers and some crazy testing needed for completion.
