Lord of the Rings
Balin's Tomb

For many years and ages... Moria has seen many in its life. Now at 3019, the Third Age, the Fellowship enters its black halls and goblin infested shadows. Now as the Fellowship stops in the Chamber of Mazarbul, the goblins and orcs show themselves...

For more information on Moria... Click here!

Characters, Abilities, and Attributes:
Aragorn
- Legacy of Númenor (Revival)
- Andúril

~ Zealot. Has the highest HP (Excluding Gandalf in the Balrog Battle). Only unit that can revive, using the Legacy spell.

Boromir
- Horn Call (Gives 100 gas for each player)
- Shield of Might

~ Dark Templar. Has a good armor (Second to Frodo's). Slow attack. Might be the worst of the whole Fellowship. But his Horn may aid the Fellowship in many ways.

Gandalf
- Flame of Valinor
- Shield of Manwë (Invincibility)

~ Hydralisk. Has a very good HP and Atk points. Very useful spells and starts with a weapon.

Legolas
- Searing Arrows
- Deadly Aim

~ Marine. Lowest HP (Excluding for Hobbits). Good range and very fast. With his combo of speed and spells, this character would be a very formidable enemy.

Gimli
- Axe Throw
- Vengence of Moria

~ Firebat. One of the most damaging units of all, but splashes and is concussive. May be the character with the worst abilities, but packs a punch.

Frodo (And Hobbits, but they don't get spells)
- One Ring (Invincibility)
- Sting

~ Zealot. Zergling (Sam). Marine (Pippen). Firebat (Merry). Has the greatest base armor. The hobbits are weaker copies of the Fellowship, but with upgrades (Stim, Leg Enhancements, Etc...) they could become a devastating group.

Bosses:
- Troll
- Orc Chieftain
- Olog-Hai
(Four)
- Spawn of the Ungoliant
- Spawn of the Valaraukar
- Goblin Chieftain
(Three)
- Olog-Hai Chieftain
- Shadow of Sauron
- Balrog, Demon of Might

Hidden Bosses:
- Watcher in the Water
- Angry Sheep of Moria
- Gollum
- Shadow of Morgoth

Weaponry:
- Aeglos
- Herurugrim
- Palantir
- Durin's Axe
- Grond

Grades:
Depends on how long you take to pass the whole game.
- D. Dull
- C. Cool
- B. Brutal
- A. Amazing
- S. Stylish

Balin's Tomb is not an easy game. Many people have died because Gandalf or Frodo died, since both of them are required. Some die from the difficulty of the bosses. This game has been passed by very few, and I've heard no one saying they've gotten an S grade before. I haven't either, I have only gotten an A, but not for long. This game has been nerfed many times, now it is set to only "hard", not "mission impossible". Still... You might die, since some of the events are surprising. This game starts as an defense, but then quickly changes into an RPG. While in the RPG, units get harder, and the death chance grows higher. It is always smart to use your minerals to upgrade armor. Gas comes automatically, but slowly, so save it up and use your spells on bosses, instead of masses of orcs. There is much more in this game, secrets, level ups, many hidden treasures... This game is loaded, and will give you hours of fun... Maybe...

Is this a comment? :P

Map sounds good, but too lazy to test it. But can the simple Battle.netters mind comprehend such a advanced map?

Predator of Bed Chambers

Fun map, few things I didn't like. Rehot keying for abilities after I use them. I owned Olog-Hai Chieftain by hitting him across paths without taking any damage.

Was hard but map needed a lot of team work till later once maxed up. Then bosses were the only challage and Dragoons >_<

did ya know when Aragorn uses " Andúril " he can jump across paths? I used his skill and got Durin's Axe without path clearing blockade.

Other then that pretty nice map.

If all else fails, crowbar the fucker

I told to make the spells hotkeyable :P Or make the labels belong to the player hotkeyable, but no, you have to go making secret weapons like Grond >.> that <.< doens't really >.> exist. <.<

I doubt you're going to get a response any time soon regarding a possible sequel or a re-post of the map.

Keep in mind this thread was made Feb 17, 2008...

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
