Starcraft2.com has been updated with the Carrier, and good ol' Interceptors are still in it.

Click me.

and they look better than ever! :D smooth interceptors, cool new looking plasma cannons for the interceptors. And a slick new design for the carriers.

I wonder if the carrier has some ability like most of the other units... hopefully they won't make it too insane xD

They now have the ability to auto-build interceptors...

Relatively ancient and inactive

It sure took a ton of time for three carriers to beat one battlecruiser, though, and the battlecruiser was able to tear through its' targets' defenses and probably get it to 1/2 life.

The animation was there to show the interceptors, not the power of the carrier

Off SClegacy, too lazy to find the original B.NET post

The Carrier has a special shield that activates when ground targets are attacking it. That is the only special thing I know about it but wasn't it supposed to be called the Temptest or something?

hahaha... you see... I have the proff right here for you... Coming right from the August issue of PC Gamer magazine posted on page 29... I am going to give you the EXACT words of what it says about the Tempest (Carrier). "Tempest The Tempest is a dark carrier with disc fighters and a strong shield that activates only when attacked from the ground. It will have no defense whatsoever against air attacks." Now we all know that this does have defense against air attacks because it shows it in the little clip they play on StarCraft2.com but from what this says, the Carriers will have a special shield activating against ground targets. This may change but so far it is not known.

They changed the name on us but it still seems to be the same unit.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
