Background :
Some years have passed, since the tragedy of the first landing on Mars were fortunately a a transmitter successfully arrived to Earth. This time Earth was informed of the delicate situation and well prepared for colonizing Mars.
Earth sends his army to Mars but, they does not know what mysteries exist now on Mars. Some years have passed and now the colonization will be battled!

Uhm... What? I can't understand what you're trying to say...

And MOAR DETALES! What features does this have that make it interesting? I know you have an oxygen system, but otherwise... Nothing. Everything in your "details" section could be expanded on.

And I can't open maps without access to SC, which I don't currently have due to being grounded. *facepalm*

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
