Quote from DT_Battlekruser
Previously popular things like member titles, signatures, and custom shoutbox colors (and avatars) are to cost minerals to have. New members will be consigned to blank signatures and '?' avatars for the first ~400 minerals of posts. Mineral gains have yet to be calibrated in the new economy.
I really hope it doesn't take too many posts just to get an avatar. Great that SEN is back though, I missed coming here.

Yaaay, SEN = pwness. And uhh, is -200 mins as in NEGATIVE 200 mins?
Yes, as in Moose thinks you should pay off a 200 mineral debt before you can gain minerals to buy anything.

Expected mineral calibration is to be 5-10 minerals per post, so perhaps an approximate 30 non-Null sizeable posts before you can have an avatar, and another 10 to 15 more before you can have an avatar and signature and title.

Yes, it's a lot.

Your pardon; 'IP and Moose think members should pay off a mineral debt before gaining access to avatars and signatures...'

40 or so sizeable (larger than say 100 characters) posts not in Null.

just with the "paying for avatars/sigs/..." idea, I think it's not entirely a silly or arrogant idea at all. I don't know of any similar system that has been tried before, so it'll be interesting to see how this one works. It should provide encouragement for people to post/contribute, and at the same time people will be learning through their posts (and hopefully coming to a more mature understanding of how to best participate in this forum) before they get carried away with how cool or stupid they can be with their avatar, signature and other personalisation options.

It doesn't necessarily mean that people are going to get cocky about it any more than people might get 'elitist' over what member ID they get (not referring to anyone in this thread).

Starting with less than 0 minerals is another matter though; it seems a little strange to me why that would be a sensible thing to do. Can't you just make things a bit more expensive? I know they're not quite equivalent, but there's a bit of a stigma that goes with being "in debt" as soon as you start out...

I'd gladly have no sig/avatar/title just to be at this site.

Buying signatures and avatars is lame.

And you should replace the "preview" with "submit" in fast replies.

So, Moogle, maybe when SEN v5.0's up, ready and kicking, can you post the results of Moogle's RPG Treehouse Action RPG Contest?

@XGhozt It's custom coded for SeN.

Oh, and outward and onward to v5.1!

Well, it's very well done. By the way, my name is spelled with a z. :-_-:

SEN cannot be replaced, their FAIL.

Ok... Ok.. Ok...

So now SEN is back up,
MAPLANTIS dies?
STARFUSIONS dies?

What is going on? This is happening too fast

No, you're just going to slow.

Edit: I guess you can't quote a link.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
