Alright, so my class was put in charge of making a Remembrance Day presentation. Are there any 'sad' songs out there that would work well in a war scene and doesn't sound excessively graphic. I've been looking around, and haven't been having much luck. Anyone know a good sad song?

Note: Songs CAN have vocals, so long as its fitting. Either way, I can just extract the background music. ^^

Just Here For The Pie

All Those Moments by She Wants Revenge. It is completely instrumental and holds somewhat of a sad/depressing mood.

Here is a really weird video that has the song being played in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_ie_bJN_3w

I could probably find something else if the song is too short for your presentation.

Edit..
This song might be better: She Wants Revenge - Disconnect
I have always enjoyed their first album far more then their second.

Doodan's would fit for a "Bodies" scene.
Kow, the song sounds (to me) more like troops being set overseas. This is when they're already in the War Front. I actually thought of using a Halo theme for this.
RIVE = Same thing as Doodan.

I've heard there are symphonies that simulate cannon fire and gunshots. Creepy.

1st movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata FTW!

OHHH NO this one is THE rememberance song - Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings - they played it the entire day on tv on three different channels the day that JFK got assassinated.

I am actually going to second this because I also find this song fitting.
(lol) I think I heard it in a Randy Solem cartoon once.

Thanks for songs. Songs with Vocals are now required. But it has to be like... "acousticy".

Non-vocals are still being accepted. Better and better sounds are bound to be found. :P

When thinking of sad songs with vocals, all that comes to my mind really is Stabbing Westward. Though, that band gets kind of heavy and you are looking for more acoustic sounding sad songs.
Check Kingfish's song Chasing the Seagulls. It is the fourth track down. If you like it, I can send you an mp3 of it.

Go Go Russian Rangers!

Anyways, classical music would be most tollerable. Veterans are coming to my school, so I don't think they want to be blasted to death.
The song needs to match a few requirements:

1) Its going to be played just before the Last Post.
2) Its a reflection on what the horrors soldiers have seen (This may be hard).
3) Soft, lyrical stuff. eg, "Some Mother's Son" by Carolyn Dawn Johnson (I can't find an example, but I can upload an .FLV if you'd like.

Gogo stereotypical John Lennon - Imagine FTW?

I'm surprised that no one posted this yet.

Soft lyrical stuff is actually more country (something I effectively hate). What if I said MINERAL PRIZE?

Hey, I've been busy lately since I started college. I'm trying to keep working on my rpg, though I can't host on battle.net from college so its annoyingly difficult. As for modding my rp, I'm not giving you explicit permission, but I won't scream and cry if you do...
Hopefully I'll be able to continue working on my rpg when I switch roommates, even if I still won't be able to host.

That project was canceled. However, I'll still be willing to work on your RPG.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
