Gotham's Dark Knight Steps Forward; Murders Continue

While the shedding of blood continued over the night as three more lives were taken, Gotham was shocked today to learn that the mysterious Dark Knight of Gotham, better known as the Batman, has finally entered the fray. As citizens mourn the loss of the dead, a new beat of hope rises from the streets as the people know they have a savior looking down from the rooftops, ready to root out crime.
The details of the Batman's actions are traditionally sketchy, but one witness reports seeing a man with a silenced pistol sprinting down the street away from the docks when a dark shape swooped out of the air and tackled the running man before lifting off into the air again, holding his captive aloft. Other than these sketchy details, all that is known is that DeVouReR was found around six in the morning, strapped to a spotlight that used his shredded clothes to make the relief image of a bat against the storm clouds. A source inside the police, who requested to remain anonymous as he was not at liberty to release the information, reported that it was Lt. Gordon's unit that was on the scene first.
Prior to the Batman's dramatic entrance, there were also several chaotic murders in the night. Witness report that lil-Inferno was walking along an alley toward the docks when he noticed a strange dust falling. He looking up, and saw something that claimed his interest. A load of bricks was plummeting from the rooftops right toward him. He lunged aside, ducking behind a crate. Although he successfully dodged the first attempt on his life, he knocked over a second man who had been hiding behind the crate. A few soft thuds were heard, and then a man ran sprinting down the alley out of sight. Longshoremen searched the area and discovered the body of lil-Inferno with several bullet holes in his head.
Later in the night, a dramatic car chase developed through the streets of Gotham. Gotham Police patrol cars could not keep up and only a helicopter recorded the results of the chase. A modified, blacked-out sedan chased a blue SUV until the SUV rounded a corner, hit a spike strip, and skidded off the edge of the road into the river. The vehicle sank quickly into the drink, its electronics sparking feebly as they shorted out from the water. The occupant, Vrael, was fished out of the river hours later. Meanwhile, the helicopter pilot reported that a man with a sword leapt out from behind a barrel next to the spike strip and began yelling at the mafia in the pursuit car. After a brief argument, the two men got in the car and sped into an underground parking lot. Police arriving on the scene could not locate them later.
Furthermore, darksnow was found dead in his house. His wrists had been slashed, but authorities have said the evidence points to a homicide. As the killings continue, the city of Gotham prepares for a day of vigilante violence, lynch style.

Assistant DA Knocked off In Fiery Explosion

Amidst the many killings last another, another woman tragically lost her life in a great explosion. Word has reached the Globe that Rachel Dawes, a prosecutor with the Gotham City District Attorney's Office, is confirmed to have been inside a warehouse that burned to the ground last night. Authorities estimate that some fifty-nine barrels of gasoline caught fire and exploded in a warehouse in a run-down part of the city. The explosion obliterated most of the evidence, so investigators have few leads as to the cause of the explosion or why Dawes was inside at the time.
In an interview, a spokesman for the District Attorney's office said that his department had no knowledge of Dawes's presence in the warehouse, so she was not acting in any official capacity. Authorities are stopping short of saying definitively whether foul play was involved, but the barrels were reportedly stored somewhat securely, which leads many to believe that the explosion was detonated intentionally
