Oh_Man -- easiest way i could sum up my thinking on this is I actually hold very similar opinion to christians. I too think the various religions of the world are untrue - I just go one religion further

That general attitude is what I would describe as arrogance. Considering his beliefs about the world as infallible and not even worthy of discussing further. One could argue he didn't want to derail the free will discussion with a theology discussion, but like you, I believe it's a relevant factor in the greater discussion.
