So based on their contributions to society, who are your top 5 scientists of all time?

Mine would be, in no particular order:
- Louis Pasteur
- Albert Einstein
- Thomas Edison
- Aristotle

But number one would have to be...
Isaac Newton - hands down THE greatest scientist of all time IMO. I can't imagine what the world would be like without physics or even the most basic fundamentals of calculus

None.

Just Here For The Pie

I only need ONE.

John Vincent Atanasoff

He decided he wanted to make a machine that functions like the human brain.
Guess what, you're looking at it...

FYI: If you don't know what you're looking at, it's your computer! :P

In no particular order:

Galileo
Newton
Einstein
Hawking
Bohr

These 5 scientists have advanced physics and astronomy greatly, and I can't imagine where we would be without them.

Nikola Fucking Tesla .. nuff said
Max Planck, Awesome Guy, Awesome Name, bow to his quantum glory
Einstein, unwilling grandfather of the nuclear weapon, all around awesome.
Werner Heisenberg, i can say this with no uncertainty ... (I'm so funny)

Not sure about number 5, but Edison was a bastard, so i'll place him last

I'd probably just remove hawking or bohr and get DaVinci in there.

fuck you all

Yeah, I'd replace Bohr with Da Vinci or Planck. I put him in there because I couldn't think of anyone else.

NudeRaider -- blessed innocent soul knows nothing of the strife we had before EUDs were discovered :teehee:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
[2026-6-20. : 6:15 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
