Does anyone here still play the original UT? I had it installed at one point, but then removed it. Now that I installed it again, it doesn't work with one of my 3D drivers, and the other one only gives windowed play. Anyone know how to fix this? Open Arena (Quake 3 essentially) stopped working on my computer as well, and I have a thirst for Deathmatch :(

I still play Unreal Tournament. If you uninstalled it properly, then reinstalling shouldn't be a problem.

Old UT works fine here as well. I miss playing with the MoZ though, funniest clan ever. "The Monsters of Zark welcome you."

Uh... Go into your Unreal Tournament folder and use the uninstall wizard. If you used Add/Remove Programs, then that's uninstalling improperly.

I played it once... My dad has it, but I haven't messed around with the original too much. I might try it again though, awesome game series.

I bought UT 3 for the xbox 360 yesterday and I love it.

Ut3 looked like a huge flop. it just doesnt play as great. :( honestly as far as Ut goes in consoles UT2 had it way better with the running around and agility just sucked becuase of lack of weapons, their adrenaline usage was pretty hawt too.

I own UT2k4 but not the original UT.

Well, I got it uninstalled and re-installed properly, and now it works great. I love UT, but with all new games, its hard to get use to the environment. They don't bother to put a semicolon on there smilies! :???:
:P Anyways, if anyone has original UT and wants to play, the name I use is Haz (lol) and sometimes but rarely I use "Mr.Roboto"

And yeah, I herd UT3 sucked. They took the sport out of it :(

I love UT3. It doesn't seem very different from 2004. Its the same weapons, but upgraded graphics. They added vehicle CTF and warfare mode (which is basically Onslaught). But DM feels the same, so I'm quite happy with the game.

Although, they could have done better with the AI, because it sucks. The bots are worthless, and even get stuck any several spots.

UT3 kicks ass, though it's not as good as 2k4, and Epic seems not to be putting much effort into fixing it.

Anyone who got the PS3 version, however, is a tool.

I've got UT, UT 2003 and also the one that started it all, Unreal. Occasionally I still play UT or UT 2003 but that's mostly on weekends. Drop me a PM in advance if you wanna have a few bouts in times to come. ;)

NudeRaider -- The visuals are good, the animation is terrible: the movement is off, the impacts in battle scenes have zero weight to it, the lip sync is right up uncanny valley. But yeah, considering what it is it's pretty good overall.

NimoStar -- And Pathfinding in SC1 was not *that* bad, the problem is that it was designed as a flat 2D game like WC1 (and it was in the alpha) and then switched to isometric without changing the base code. So its actually a flat game pretending to be isometric. With the custom competitive maps that use larger ramps and elevation, pathfinding is quite fixed.

NimoStar -- The unlocking and map choice was fine, but mostly in WoL - In HoTS the worst of all units are irrelevant because Kerrigan has infinite summon and stuff. And even in WoL the spaceship instakill map powers are better than units. If I could RTS in my RTS that'd be great.

NudeRaider -- Nekron
Nekron shouted: NudeRaider not that the og sc1 campaigns are particularly good mechanically but cmon, SC2 map mechanics are the opposite of fun
There's many parts to it. I think the raw rts gameplay of sc1 is unsurpassed to this day. And I too never liked that sc2 missions always rush you in some way or another, because I like to take my time. However I still have to admit that they way they did it often was always pretty cool. Like lava rising and receding, a huge-ass mothership destroying bases, undead coming at night, just to name a few, those are definitely creative, so I'm sure there's people that liked it. But that's not even what I meant. It's the unlocking of new features and upgrades and choice which map to play next that made it so much more motivating for me.

Nekron -- like the train maps, enemies just kind of come at you (I'm not sure if there is a real enemy base, there might be one just on a technicality - you are to never interact with its production) and then you gotta chase trains for lulz
