If we edit a post less than a minute or two after we post it, we don't really need the "this post edited by..." message.

What would be the time frame for editing and not getting the message? I would say from 2 to 5 minutes?

Also, editing a post returns you to the first page of a topic, regardless of where your post is.

not ignored... i'm just doing something very specific right now and aren't tending to little bugs

It not longer adds "edited by" for the first 5 minutes unless you put an edit reason.
Also, posts no longer attach themselves to other posts... It just makes a new post (I guess...).

Also you have the link problem when you edit your signature
