Hello folks,

I've got another question here (last time the issue was solved quickly, thanks; I realized that I was posting in a slightly wrong forum area). I was thinking about converting the Duke tanks into a custom unit - a war machine of a different kind - but was under the impression that the AI will never siege / unsiege them unless explicitly ordered through issue_order. Is that true, and if so, are there ways around that?

Now, I can make a unit that is only intended for human player's use but I'd prefer it to be available to the (mostly allied) AI too. If it's a non-starter I'll just find another way to implement a unit similar to my idea, without the mode change, so it's not a deal-breaker.

AI siege handling is hardcoded to just the normal tank unit ids, and I don't think anyone has ever looked at which place(s) of code that logic is located.

Guess I'll just leave it there, then, because I can't imagine what kind of idle_orders might need to be written to handle this at least semi-harmoniously. :) Thanks.
