I got rather pissed at having to disable javascript randomly because of rickrolls (i already had them adblocked, but that doesn't get rid of the onbeforeunload). I found an anti-rickroll greasemonkey script, but it only crossed out links, so I updated it so that it makes you bounce off the pages instead.

Download! (Requires Greasemonkey)

Watch moose pwn this thread :P

Moose better pwn this thread fast.
Anyways I don't think people will find this too practical. There's always non-greasemonkey using stuff like site-block or Opera.

No, I think I'm just going to start pwning Rickroll links because it's getting stupid now.

If you open the page in a new window, the onbeforeunload (the alerts) won't work, but the video will still play.

Thigh high affectionado

Maybe you should use a new music video.

Instead of Rickrolling, Use flyleaf Lul. Nobody likes flyleaf ;D (Ok some people do, but that little girl has no talent and should leave that band alone. Srsly)

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Thanks. Those are annoying. Greasemonkey FTW!

I was afraid those LINKS were rickrolls at first.

Sadly, I don't use mozilla, so I can't disable them cursed rickrolls. *Sigh...*

That reminds me, wasn't the database supposed to be up?

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
