Hey there!
Anyone here who has seen Shingeki no Kyojin (eng: 'Attack on Titan')?
I would recommend it to everyone, but I think this is already quite popular so most of you anime-heads have seen it already.
For those who have seen it : your opinions on that?

I enjoyed it. There really isn't much for me to say about the show without spoiling a lot of it.
Yeah, let's avoid spoilers. Even people who aren't fans of anime seem to find this show easy to enjoy.
By the way, never go to the Attack on Titan wiki unless you're caught up with the manga. They don't hesitate to put spoilers everywhere: article text, pictures, and even titles. It's really rather obnoxious how bad they are, so if you've only seen the anime, don't go there. In fact, you should probably avoid searching the internet in general. If you really want to look something up, you should find the manga online and get caught up first.

Episode 19 Spoiler (not a gif)
It's a pretty great show. As Wing mentioned, though, it's really hard to talk about the show without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet. It's only 25 episodes (for the season) and pulls you in really quickly.
Basically, the show is an apocalyptic scenario about how humanity is brought to the brink of extinction by the titans (giant humanoid monsters). The surviving humans live inside these massive walls which protect them from the titans, and they send out the Recon Corps (or the Survey Corps if you're not watching the gg subs) to do expeditions and try to learn more about the titans in hopes of defeating them someday.
The character development is great, and the story is fascinating. It only takes a few episodes to know whether or not you'll enjoy the series (and I have yet to find anyone who hasn't enjoyed it).

Dropped it pretty early and went back to my shonen shit. Every episode felt really repetitive after they kept on pushing the 'shock' scenes too hard and too often. After a while I felt like all that happened was either people minding their own business or doing what they are doing and then getting brutally killed or a character staring at the screen with his mouth open doing that generic shocked stuttering noise.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu6BD4Gyc78Like the first 5 seconds looped for a lot longer than it really should have. Overall seems like a good show and it's so entry level that I couldn't get a day without seeing a ton of people posting about it on facebook when it aired. I wish people got this hyped over JoJo.
Was the "what did you wipe on my back?/My faith in humanity" thing actually said or just the translator I got my subs from having fun?
None.
Those are good, love that Sasha-Potatoe one

That's what was said. Out of curiosity, what alternative were you imagining?
By the way, [gg] is the best sub group for this series. They actually took this one seriously.
I remember seeing an alternative but I can't remember what was said exactly. I do know that when I read it I threw my hands in the air like this can't be real, the humanity thing was gold.
None.
