ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

No offense but almost none of them are focused on the subject D:

It really annoys me because you seem to get how to compose a picture, although they're pretty standard compositions, but you kinda completely mess up your focus... What lense are you using?

fuck you all

wth is starcraft

I use the stock lens that came with my camera. But yea, I agree. Especially for the 4th picture. I really liked how the color came out though.

I'm trying to train myself to do better at manual focus instead of relying on auto focus all the time, I think it is really hard when the flowers I'm photographing are so small.

Oh, you're using a zoom lense...You see, if you had gone for an actual camera (not sony, but canon) you'd have nice stuff like the nifty fifty :3

Oh shit, the equivalent for your Sony alpha is REALLY expensive :P

If you have a couple bucks I'd recommend a 50mm lense as your second lense. you'll not regret it. I got a 50mm 1.8f for my canon and it's probably the best decision I've ever made in my life, though, my 50mm for the cannon was like 80 bucks xD

I swear it's so much fun, if you're used to being able to zoom you'll hate it a little bit but get used to eventually and the things you can do with one are awesome. The 1.8f gives you nice bokeh and you could even do some basic astrophotography if you ever get into that.

Yea...Sony's a little bitch about how they product lock their lenses. There's rumors that off brands work but Sony did something to make sure it didn't? I dunno. I got my sony as a birthday gift like five years ago. He's part of the family now. <3

Actually if I get a new one, I'd like a canon. Though what I'd really like in a camera is a bigger view finder. They're so freakin tiny...and no, I don't want a camera with a live picture. Before you ask.

Oh yeah, there's always third party lenses, I myself have Tamron 28-80mm for the canon. Tamron makes quality lenses BUT when they're expensive, unfortunately I didn't know that and I got a cheap one back then, but still, fair enough to learn. Leica, Pentax and Sigma make good ones too. Additionally i believe there's also mount-converters for the sony, there are for the canon, but i am unsure if you'd be able to just mount a canon lens on a sony, there's a whole level of compatibility between those three components (lense-adaptor-body) that makes me think it just won't work.

For canon, it's basically because old cameras were made with a 50mm mount and new ones are 58mm.

I don't know if you'd actually be able to find one with a bigger viewfinder... seems like a pretty standard thing to me... Unless your Sony A has a particulary small one because... reasons...

And all newer models of Canon HAVE live view, even entry level, so there's no way around that. It's a nice thing to have. You don't actually shoot with it, obviously, but it has its uses, don't ditch it like that :P For example, when I put on my cheap macro modifier I use the live view and zoom to 100x to make sure things are perfectly in focus. When shooting macro moving only half a milimeter can end up with a completely out of focus object...

EDIT: Here's what I am talking about, I shot this macro, without live view it'd have been completely out of focus and still with it, I moved just a litle bit and you can see that the bee is a little bit off... I wanted to get the bee and flower in the same plane...

That's a bee on a tiny pineapple's flower btw...
