Is there a way to modify a unit's tech tree requirements? I've been looking all for the data editor and I couldnt find anything that could help.

None.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

You can add a requirement to an ability. The Ability you would like to modify is each worker's one to build/construct.

You can edit or create new requirements in the requirements tab in the data editor.

There are levels of terrible that do not warrant civility and only reflect the lack of effort or willingness to learn on the part of the uploader. There is a reason the melee forum section has guides and minimum standards. If these were topics instead of DLDB uploads they'd be locked.

DarkenedFantasies shouted: yeah it's a file size limit, around 2MB. there are files in the database that are larger than this, so I guess the limit has been reduced over time or there are hidden criteria
it's based on how much Moose loves you

DarkenedFantasies -- it does seem to be a file size limit. Uploading a 31MB zip of multiple maps also fails, but a 350KB zip of my mod's plugins (without the 8.5MB mpq) went through.
