Hey all,

zeeg here from Nibbits, just wanted to let you guys know about something we rolled out tonight: Community Sites

Since Nibbits is designed mostly to be an archive of maps (but allowing players to find compelling content to try out) we went ahead and rolled out a simple affiliate system. The goal is really to just promote the many valuable resources that are out there for the different games. It works similar to a topsite system, in that it ranks sites based on "traffic sent back", but the big difference is that even if you don't send back very many visitors, you still get publicity (based on random chance).

Excalibur went ahead and added Staredit, so I'm not really posting to get that going, just wanted to throw the word out there for any other community resources. I'd PREFER that a representative of those sites add it themselves, but that's just a minor detail for now.

Thanks all, and keep up the great work over here :)

I guess this is an easy way to inform you:

I stopped using your site because it usually does not allow me to upload maps onto it. External Error? Something like that. Really killed it for me.

Its not exactly easy to make an uploader that can deal with most types of map protection. SEN's DB is an absolute mess. It is hard to get a map protected in a way that it will upload properly, but it can be done if you put the effort in.

There's actually something being done right now to address unparseable maps :)

It's actually not protected

I've actually just decided to post on your site's forums about this issue. I gave more detail there so you can take a look more in-depth.

The problem with SEN's DB is not the program pulling data from the map, Farty wrote that and it works perfectly fine(he has it hosted somewhere else and I've never had it fail), it's other code messing up.

If you think you have a map that fails in the uploady program, I'm interested in making sure that it doesn't. ;o

What great work?...though when I finish my secret project It'll be number one for years to come.

Am I the only one who felt a bit of something odd in this quote? Nibbits is a vampire that feeds on SEN! O_O

Is your app open source by chance? I'd be interested in seeing how you do things differently than us. Ours works in most cases, and even ones where it's impossible to make it work 100% we've slimmed it down to work partially (such as generating previews for maps with missing tiles).
