It's supposed to take over email, blogging, IMing, forums, photo sharing, etc. I see it as the next step in ~~google's world takeover bid~~ cloud computing.

So who has it and spare invites, who wants it, who hates it?

Is exciting, but I'm not going to put much effort into getting it before it's publicly released. If it makes everything else obsolete, good for it!

I got accepted to try it out by Google about a couple of days ago. Thus far, it isn't so fun with 1 person in my contacts list. I have 5 invites left. I sent one to cent, and I hope he invites others from SEN so that soon we can all contact each other on it.

They are making it partly open source, which is a good thing. I want to try it out for my next webpage and see how it fits.
