SEN Related Suggestions:

- Delete Clan Oo's forum, they dissolved the clan, it's useless clutter.
- Lock 'What the heck are you listening to?' It's promoting the very demon you guys hate so much. Spam.
- Find someone willing to code features and have them do so.
- Keep members updated on what's happening around the site on admins side of things.
- Host monthly mapping contests, let's get the blood pumping again.
- Clean out member list of one timers, doubles and bots.
- Promote DTBK to admin, I miss him.

I only agree with these two.

Locking active topics that older users post in is just going to piss off older users. Bad idea. What any of us should want to do is have SEN be enjoyable. Since SC is in a rather inactive state as it is, you can't force activity and willingness to map make upon older users of SEN.

As for mapping contests, there is the Last Stand RPG Contest, as well as Echo's Autumn. It isn't like they are non-existent. Why don't YOU host a mapping tournament?

Clean the member list? That's an utter waist of time. What good would it do? Not enough to be actually considered.. Unless that is someone around here wants to do that for hours. Why don't you volunteer Shocko?

Lastly, I've seen like 4 topics on what admins have been doing. Don't think making annoying topics like this is going to let you in what admins are specifically doing. Why didn't you just pm them about that, or even better -look into older topics?

Echo was doing the monthly mapping contest, and if 3 people did a map this time, who knows maybe 5 or 6 will do one next go around.

I think the map topic was a bit...sketchy. Need to go for something people know how to do, such as "Zombies" or "Vehicles", but not have to base the entire map on it.

Activity updates even if you don't post, right? Lurkers will have an activity, and thus won't be one timers.

I'll run one if I can think of a cool theme.

I agree that oO and MM forums need to be removed/Nulled, and that we should have moar contests, but the rest isn't going to help or has already been discussed, EXCEPT DTBK being admin. It could be a good idea, I don't mind personally.

While we're doing stuff, could we make it so shoutbox color isn't item-dependent anymore? Seeing as there are no items...

So how do I go about starting one of these contests? Just post in Portal News and wait for a staff member to approve it?

As weird as it might sound but i think giving mapper and entire month is too much time. I think that gives people who sign up time to procrastinate way more then they usually do. I mean maybe doing a one month thing is even aiming too high.

I think it was lil-inferno? who ran a one hour mapping contest and the same amount of people who entered the one month contest actually finished a map. Weren't any of the maps submitted like 2-3 day maps anyways?

I think we are at the point were we need rewards (GOOD ones) to actually open up scmdraft now a days. I can't talk i guess. I'm a map lurker really so.. eh.

Yo Shocko, I'm happy for you and Ima let you finish but I just wanted to say (the no joke part) that you really seem to be getting real anal about things. It's cool to have someone 'doing' things and getting active but maybe your going about it all wrong?

The first one-hour-map-making-contest I saw was "hosted" by Lethal_Illusion as far as I remember, but I also know these have the best submission rate
Host a three-hours-map-making-contest each month and it would be awesome. (People never really do a good job in 1 hour, they have to go on at least 2 hours to polish everything up).

I remember Kenoli and a few other (U) guys hosting 1 hour map contests years ago. Those were fun.

By that logic I could say "I'm going to make this new clan after SC2 comes out, so we should get a forum too."
