You can submit any articles on anything that you want to have an early critique here. A place will be found for it after everything is up and running. If you are too shy for public scrutiny or paranoid of idea stealers, you can always confidentially e-mail them to me at senmagazine@yahoo.com

Just here for the activity... well not really

There should be some sort of resource package of terrain brushes, .wav files, and possibly .grp files as well.
They can be community contributed so we have a topic every week for members to submit their stuff.

Call them "The Minerals".
(Also, I couldn't find a place to put this, so I dumped it here. Sue me.)

Ya, maybe I'll work on placing MANY blends into a brush and posting it here.
For doing so, I'll want a SEN Medal :D Also one for my Mog of Moose Appreciation >:O

wouldnt it be better if senzine taught people how to make blends and all that crap instead of giving them blends to copy and paste?

:payne:

Well, maybe, but still, I did some work for the brushes.
I don't think I'll do more work on that, it's very boring xD
Here's what I got so far :D
Bones will be useless as hell but meh... I had to start with something to test out how it worked ;)
Ramps is a good one :)

I agree. This should be informative, at the very least. You need some text to go with these and a simple, "Here are completed brushes. Enjoy!" doesn't cut it.

What about sounds/grps? They aren't as easy to recreate as terrain.

I'm writing an article on mod design as we speak. Could be applied to maps as well, I guess.

Here are two articles on mod design. Tell me what you think. I'll be happy to edit/improve them if you think they need it.

Keep in mind that what you write doesn't have to be anything new. I foresee many things from the wiki just being translated into a smoother form.

Better/Bigger versions of Ramps and Custom brushes at http://www.staredit.net/topic/7800/
Devourer said he should work on some Twilight brushes.
And for the tutorials, there are many great ones on Falk's site... ;)

If you want some sort of SEN commentary or admin corner or something, let me know. Perhaps I can pull off another Philosopher King.

It seems like this 'zine would be a much more appropriate setting for one of those random rants. I like it.

It's good, but sort of boring to read through. Perhaps you should rephrase things and change up the vocabulary a bit to cater more toward casual b.netters or people who have no mod experience.

Will do, thanks Norm.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
