Is there a way to make normal attacks

For example, I want the phase disruptor to target building only, but I want it as an attack, not a spell...

I messed around with orders.dat, but it didn't come out right...

lol, I don't really know.

I think there's a way to make it damage only buildings, but I'm pretty sure it will fire on everything. Try messing with the targeting flags in weapons.dat. Honestly I've never seen it done before so I'm going to guess that setting only the building targeting flag will either not work or cause a crash.

I used an unused order for directing targeting rules, in this case place COP, but I literally copied everything from attack order, other than the targeting rule, and in unit.dat ai action I directed a unit's attack order to that order, the result was suprising, the unit actually followed the targeting rules, in this case it avoided attacking robotic units, but when I order it to attack organic units, instead of attacking, it performed a teleoport... place COP...

I wonder if it would be possible to create a Blink spell using that method. Will check it out.

there are several problems with that method, 1, the unit loses all the buttons after it's blinked and 2, refer to #1, and 3, the unit can be placed anywhere rather than just a short distance away from it's current location.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
