Ahh, all day I was accumulating a detailed post but then my laptop freezed and nothing got save. :omfg: Anyway...

I am creating a Nazi Zombie starcraft map.
According to Call of Duty 5 Wikipedia page:
If the player waits for the credits after the campaign to end, Nazi Zombies starts. The game takes place on the map called Nacht der Untoten (German for "Night of the Undead"). It consists of 1-4 players fighting an unlimited number of waves of Nazi zombies [defending an abandoned bunker]. Players can work together to kill the zombies either offline with two players or online with 2-4 players. The players gain points by injuring or killing the zombies or repairing boarded-up windows (the only place where zombies can penetrate). [The points] are used to remove blockages such as couches or doors inside the bunker and to gain access to more useful weapons than the starting handgun. Guns are bought from outlines on the walls or the Mystery Box, which gives a weapon at random. Zombies continually break the boards on the windows or certain walls to gain entrance and to find and kill the players; when all players die the game is over. Downed players can survive if another player revives them or will respawn at the end of a round, with only a handgun.

Nazi Zombie Gameplay

Starcraft adaptation Challenges.
- Im going to need help on ideas how players can creatively "board up windows" on a starcraft map. One person suggested having pylons as windows and if a player is near a window and builds a medic, they can create a pylon blockage to slow the incoming waves of zombies.
- Player are going to have to accumulate money by killing zombies. 1 kill for 1 mineral? Maybe. I am also going to make the players be allied to the zombies so that the players will have to manually shoot the zombies. That would defeat the purpose of gaining a kill right? Another idea is having grenades. players can buy a set of 3 grenades which will actually be a vulture for the players to lay the mines. Don't worry, the vulture will be invincible and won't do any damage.
- What will the zombies be like? Will they just be slow moving lings or zlots. I know for sure that there will be special harder zombies that will spawn in the later levels of the game. Perhaps infested terrans?
- Ammo! I will certainly need a way to make each player have limited ammo. I've seen this done on the Zombie Hotel map where players lose ammo whenever they kill. That can be difficult for me. I can just resort to Starship trooper style where players must build Dropship which will turn into points on a leaderboard score. In the Nazi Zombie, i was thinking that after no ammo, units will turn into civs and must rely on getting donations from other players or wait till the next wave. (Whenever a wave start, all players will get a handful of money)
- Custom Terrain. It doesn't have to be shape like the bunker in the gameplay. Another Good idea is having 3 seperated areas(2 players in each team). They all are trying to slow down the incoming zombies. Fortunatly there are secret passageways the link each of the 3 houses together so that eventually everyone can help everyone. Once all the locked doors and furnitures have been opened, a special ammo box with new powerful weapons may be accessed. That way, it will give players incentive to open up the passage way soon as well as bring as bringing more options and hope for the survivors in the late-game.
- Quests. Players can complete optional quests to gain money and more access to safe zones and weaponry. Heres scenario: Incoming message on the radio is heard after the 6th zombie wave. There are several civilians trapped in the hospital building. You are to locate the survivors and escort them back to bunker.
- Left 4dead style - Instead of surviving inside an area, players must TRAVEL to a far destination while avoid the flesh eating zombies. Players can also choose to be zombie special characters. Their color will be the same as the computers so that their not easily distinguishable.

So if you are interested in creating this map let me know. I'd love to have this be a collaborative effort.

I still need help =( This is what i have so far.

The core of the Terrain is complete. I will beautify it later. I added a small intro just to give the players some hype. I put a looping spawn of zombies. I am debating what I should do now and how should i approach this.

One Idea was to make everyone invincible and just make the zombies try to goto a cent loc on every player. Once zombie gets too close, ur a fallen soldier waiting for someone to revive you.

Another Idea I had was let everyone have a Barracks for additional commands. Player will build a marine to replenish window boards or open up stairs/door. Players will build medic to switch between guns. I am not sure which guns I'll put into the map and what Starcraft unit they will be. Obviously the Firebat is a suitable choice for flamethrower but how about the ray gun and others?

Deathman101, you having no interest of the actual game is irrelevent since this is starcraft. Im reinventing the wheel here using unique concepts.

I would appreciate any kind of help. Thanks

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
