Sys32 File Auto Replace

Windows XP seems to enjoy replacing files that were not part of the original OS. I tried modifying several files in the System32 directory, though they were promptly replaced by their original files.

Anyone know a way to disable without compromising security? Or at least find a way to disable it.

It sounds to me like you're having issues with the Windows File Protection feature.

Any ideas on how to temporarily disable it? Or disable it in all?
